PMP 35 Contact Hours Training: Earn Your Certificate for PMI Application

Before you can submit your PMP exam application to PMI, you must complete 35 contact hours of formal project management education. This is a mandatory, non-negotiable prerequisite — no exceptions.

Our self-paced online training course is specifically designed to satisfy this requirement. It covers all three PMP exam domains, aligns with the 2026 PMP Exam Content Outline, and delivers a verifiable certificate of completion the moment you finish.

What Are PMP 35 Contact Hours?

The 35 contact hours requirement — sometimes called “35 education hours” or “35 training hours” — is one of the three eligibility criteria you must meet before PMI will approve your PMP exam application. The other two are your degree and your project management experience.

One contact hour equals one hour of formal, instructor-led or structured online instruction in project management. Self-study, reading books, and practising on the job do not count toward this requirement. The training must come from a structured course — exactly like the one we offer here.

Important: Contact hours are different from PDUs (Professional Development Units). Contact hours are earned before you become PMP-certified, as part of your application. PDUs are earned after certification, to renew it every three years. Both can sometimes come from the same training, but they serve different purposes at different stages of your career.

Your contact hours never expire. Hours from training you completed years ago are still valid today.

What Does This Course Cover?

Our 35-hour curriculum is structured around the three domains of the 2026 PMP Exam Content Outline (ECO): People, Process, and Business Environment. Every module is mapped directly to what PMI tests.

Domain 1: People (42% of the PMP exam)

Managing and leading a project team is the largest component of the PMP exam. This domain covers:

  • Building high-performance project teams and defining team ground rules
  • Servant leadership principles and how they apply to project environments
  • Motivating, coaching, and developing team members
  • Managing conflict and negotiation strategies
  • Empowering team members and removing blockers
  • Collaborating with stakeholders across the organisation
  • Removing impediments and supporting the team in an agile context

Domain 2: Process (50% of the PMP exam)

The process domain covers how projects are planned, executed, and controlled — across predictive, agile, and hybrid approaches:

  • Defining scope, schedule, budget, and quality baselines
  • Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), activity sequencing, and critical path method
  • Earned Value Management (EVM) and key formulas (CPI, SPI, EAC, ETC)
  • Risk identification, qualitative and quantitative risk analysis, and response planning
  • Procurement planning, contract types, and vendor management
  • Managing project changes, issues, and dependencies
  • Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and reviews
  • Hybrid delivery approaches: when and how to combine predictive and agile

Domain 3: Business Environment (8% of the PMP exam)

This domain bridges project management with strategic business outcomes:

  • Aligning project goals with organisational strategy
  • Benefits realisation and measuring project value
  • Compliance, governance, and regulatory considerations
  • Organisational change management within a project context
  • Understanding project success criteria beyond budget and schedule

Bonus: PMP Exam Readiness Module

In addition to the core curriculum, your enrolment includes:

  • An overview of the PMP exam format (180 questions, 230 minutes)
  • A guide to completing the PMI online application form correctly
  • 100 practice questions aligned with the 2026 ECO
  • A downloadable PMP formula reference sheet

What You Receive

When you complete the course, you will receive:

Certificate of Completion — A formally issued certificate containing your full name, the course title, the number of hours completed (35), the completion date, and our organisation’s details. This is the document you upload to your PMI application as proof of your education requirement.

Who This Course Is For

This training is designed for:

  • PMP applicants who need to satisfy the 35 contact hours prerequisite before submitting their exam application
  • Experienced project managers who have hands-on PM experience but have not completed formal training
  • CAPM candidates — this course also satisfies the 23 contact hours requirement for the CAPM certification
  • Professionals re-applying for PMP after a previous application lapse who need to refresh their documented education

You do not need to be a PMP to take this course. It is designed for people at the start of their certification journey.
